Food was great. We tried the chicken tenders and chicken burger. My only complaint was that the meat in the chicken burger tasted really bloody, probably just the effect of using a thigh piece but it was particularly unpleasant. Much preferred the chicken tenders. Fries were also excellent and the service was lovely.
Great atmosphere! Seemed busy and our table was out the way upstairs, but we were still seen to so fast and checked up on so many times which was lovely and impressive. Definitely be back again and again ❤️
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Where do I even start? We visited **The Amsterdam** and **The Absent Ear** as a group of 15, and from the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every single one of us had the most incredible night. Nothing was too much trouble. The team were so welcoming, attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care that we were having the best time. Their energy and service made the whole experience feel so special, and they absolutely helped create a night we'll all be talking about for a long time! And the cocktails... WOW! 🍸✨ I can honestly say they are the best cocktails I've ever had in Glasgow. Every drink was beautifully made, full of flavour, and presented perfectly. You can really tell how much passion and skill goes into what they do. A huge thank you to every member of the team for making our night one to remember. You were all amazing, and your hard work didn't go unnoticed. We left with huge smiles, wonderful memories, and we're already looking forward to coming back. If you're looking for fantastic cocktails, an incredible atmosphere, and staff who genuinely make you feel looked after, this is the place to be. Highly, highly recommend! 💛
I was absolutely gasping on a pint after playing blinder of a DJ set; I just needed to decompress. Somehow, Google maps sent me here. Let’s face it, if you are told to go to a pub called ‘The Amsterdam’ in Glasgow, it needs to happen. Sat outside having a belter of a pint served by a very informative barman. Patio heaters are on, the chat around me is braw and I cannot wait to return on a sunny day. Definitely one of Glasgow’s finest bars and a great beer garden.
Midweek visit for food before a gig at Barrowland Ballroom. Small interior but it packs a whole host of drinks and has a very decent menu. I ordered 2 side dishes of mac n cheese and skinny fries and they were generously sized. My eating companion had the low and slow burger with a side of sweet potato fries - amazing! Drinks are priced well, so no rip off here for being in Merchant City. Indoor lighting is red toned, so gives a warm atmosphere. Lots of space outside for walk-ins. Best to book in advance if you are wanting to sit inside for food. Staff were friendly. I will definitely return. PS. They also have St Luke's and the Winged Ox venue round the corner of the Barrowland Ballroom, which is a cracking place too, but The 'Dam is more intimate.
