Visited at 6:30 on a Monday which was a great time as it wasn't too busy. By 7:30 it was much busier. The restaurant isn't huge but the tables feel nicely spaced out. The atmosphere inside is calm and cosy. We were originally served by one of the male waiters (sadly didn't get his name) who was originally from Andalusia (I hope I've got that right). He was absolutely fantastic. So friendly, polite and really informative. He explained the specials menu with passion and answered all our questions about the rest of the food and drinks menus with ease. His recommendation of the Porterhouse steak was spot on as my partner loves Sirloin and I prefer a Fillet. Porterhouse was the best of both worlds! The food, although pricey, was second to none. The meat just melted in your mouth. Seasoned to perfection. The sides and sauces were top notch and the desserts were phenomenal too! We ordered: Sherry glazed short rib (to share as a starter). Porterhouse steak (medium rare). Fries. Greens with chilli and garlic. Bone marrow with caramelised onions. Garlic Butter Sauce. Mojo Verde Sauce. Cheese board and burnt basque cheesecake.
We had an amazing meal at the spanish butcher in glasgow. For starters we got the scallops and the octopus, both were cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. Then we shared the tomahawk steak for mains which was honestly unbelievable, so flavourful and cooked spot on. Our server Gleb absolutely made the night though. He was so helpful and informative about the menu, gave us great advice on what to get and was just really top tier. Honestly made a great meal even better. Will definitely be coming back and asking for him again! Thank you
What an amazing dinner! Probably one of the best restaurants we have tried yet. A great menu with a glorious selection of steaks and fish. We started with the Pulpo & potato (grilled octopus, squid, chorizo, capers). For mains we had the Shetland monkfish tail and the cod fillet. Simply amazing on all counts. Dessert was the burnt Basque cheesecake. So rich & tasty but still so light. Our servers were Creda and George and they were the highlight of our dinner. Truly a pleasure talking with both of them. Many thanks to both for making it such a memorable evening. As a special they offered a 2.5 kg tomahawk steak which was ordered by the table next to us, and did it look delicious! Perfectly cooked, and by the look of the couple enjoying it, an incredible experience. We get to Glasgow about once a year and The Spanish Butcher will be our first stop for dining from now on. It truly is that good. Cheers to all the staff and chefs behind the scenes who we don’t get to meet but are so instrumental in making The Spanish Butcher so delightful. I was looking forward to another visit to this great restaurant since 2023 and again it did not disappoint. The meat, service, ambiance and everything around is is nothing short but fantastic! For me this is the only place to be when being in Glasgow and in need for a proper dinner. Meat magic, flavor excellence and highly appreciated staff make you get an unforgettable night! We were bragging about this place since our first time we’ve visited. Now I have once again renewed energy to continue telling this story! I’ve been enjoying sherry glazed short ribs for starters and 800grams of presa iberico medium rare with manchego mac&cheese, iberico cheese fries, pepper sauce and blue cheese sauce. It was, once again, out of this world!
The food is great, although quite pricey! The steak was absolutely fantastic the depth of flavour of the Glacian beef is to be commended. Really spectacular. Service was impeccable, especially at a very busy Saturday evening service. Perfect for date night or treat. Factor in the 12.5% tip added to bill!
