Was a great last minute find a lovely roast dinner. Waited 5 minutes to be seated. Food came quick and waiters were attentive and not pushy though the place was packed. Choices of 2 course or 3 course. We chose 2 coure. Melt in your mouth belly pork starter. Food was of good quality. Shame roasties were a little soaked too long in duck fat, hence not 5 stars. Flavours were great. Definitely a quality joint of beef with rich gravy, not bisto, mac and cheese with a touch of pulled pork and quality yorkies! The dessert was beautiful. Light, creamy and excellent way to finish a meal. Thank you for this great meal on my last day in Glasgow. If back, would love to try the main menu. Sure will be amazing too!
Best meal in Glasgow. Vegetarian Sunday roast with roasted celeriac and truffle gravy was wonderful. Opened with a heirloom tomato salad with pistachios and pea shoots with a Bloody Mary dressing and closed with sticky date pudding with a salty caramel sauce. Sat at the bar and the bar tender was simultaneously unobtrusive, gracious, and companionable.
Had a lunch date here on Thursday. Food was very well cooked, oysters were a hit. The pork with cauliflower, sausage and caper sauce was exceptional, a great recommendation. Wife loved the Ox cheek pie but the chirros blew her away, such a quirky, flavoursome dish. Cheese board could have done with a dollop of chutney but cheese was very good quality and a perfect end to a great meal. Service was good without being intrusive. Good value for money.
Just WOW!!! For a little place it was busy which is always a good sign of smashing it. We booked as heard they get busy, so we didn't want to be disappointed and we were greeted with smiles. We had a short wait for our table and had a drink at the bar and then at our table within 5 mins! Staff super friendly and amazing service. Food was epic and when we come back we will be booking again just beautiful and epic cooked food. Beef croquettes as a starter were amazing and roast epic to follow. The wife had the rice pudding for dessert and she loved it!!! EPIC WELL DONE 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We'd walked past here a few times and it looked inviting so we decided to pop in. The interior decor is beautiful, it feels very homely. They also had a great selection of wines. For our starters we had the whitebait and olives, main was the pork belly and fish & chips with a side of charred hispi cabbage and I had the deconstructed cheesecake. The quality of the food is just unbelievable, it's probably some of the best food we've had. That whitebait was definitely the largest and best I've had! The charred hispi cabbage would be good to have as a full main meal (or just order 2 or 3 portions). My friend loved her fish & chips, she said it was very tasty and crunchy. The wine prices are also quite reasonable, not what you'd expect from a fine dining place like this so we had two bottles, both of which were nice. Highly recommended and well worth a re-visit.
