Really nice Wetherspoon set in an old Glasgow bank. Decor is lovely with plenty of historical features still existing including a glass dome. I don’t think I have ever been in here when it wasn’t busy, you will struggle for a seat at the weekends. Food and drinks are really good and reasonably priced. Nice view of George Square if you get a sought after window seat. Toilets are a trek downstairs but have always been clean and tidy.
Wetherspoons in a beautiful building, this used to be an old bank. it got really busy but staff had it under control, i managed to find a clean table and as the bar got busy i ordered from the app, it was fast and efficient. they do a full range of drinks at reasonable prices. food also available.
Nice place. Typical spoons but you know what your getting. Better than the Crystal spastic round the corner. Food was really good. I think service could have been better if te bar staff talked less and lifted there head to see who needed serving. But overall a good place to go.
From 5 stars to 3 stars. A week later, as the first breakfast was very good, 11am might not be the right time to go breakfast was cold and the egg was atrocious. They did replace it but really not much of an improvement. Staff should know better than to serve this! Last review Standard Weatherspoons, had a nice breakfast, staff were friendly and very efficient.
Popped in for a late breakfast with my fiancée and honestly it was such a nice experience. The building itself is absolutely beautiful inside, the high ceilings, the dome, all the old banking features still there… it doesn’t feel like your typical pub at all. You could easily sit and just take in the surroundings 🏛️ It was pretty busy when we were there, but the service was very friendly from start to finish. Staff were polite, approachable and checked in to make sure everything was up to standard, which we appreciated. It never felt rushed even with how packed it was. Our food and drinks came out really quickly too 🍳which, considering the crowd, it was impressive. We had two small Scottish breakfasts, extra hash browns, a fried egg, toast and soft drinks. Everything arrived hot and as ordered. The food itself was good, not mind-blowing, but solid and exactly what you expect when you’re going to Wetherspoons. You know what you’re getting and it delivers on that consistency. For the price, the setting and the speed of service, it’s hard to complain. It’s a great spot in the city centre for a casual breakfast date or a relaxed catch-up. We left full, happy and glad we chose it 😊 Would definitely return, even just for the atmosphere alone 🍻
