Really great service, great tasting and beautifully presented food. The tasting menu was actually really good value. Would highly recommend. Nice for a special occasion. The restaurant itself is very pretty and very comfortable too. Not too formal so you have the option of dressing up or going more casual.
We booked the members lounge at Glaschu for our wedding meal and reception. Courtney helped plan our day and was wonderful to meet and work with; creating a detailed itinerary which was executed perfectly by the staff on the day. There were lots of menu options to choose from and a meal tasting was organised for us which was lovely. The food on the day was delicious and they arranged for Nonna Said pizza for the evening buffet which was a hit. The staff are incredibly professional, friendly, and hardworking as our guests kept the bar busy all night. They had speakers for us to play our music and space for some dancing (or musicians if you wanted one). They are super flexible with how you want the day to go, from the layout of the tables, to choosing drink packages or putting money behind the bar, nothing is too fixed and they are very accommodating! I would highly recommend Glaschu for your event.
Excellent choice for our last night in Scotland. We had the tasting menu and wine pairing. Service outstanding, friendly and wonderful. All dishes well prepared and plated well. My wife who hates turbine even ate theirs. Excellent value for the number of courses. Wine pairing was perfect.
I had an amazing meal at Glaschu last night. I went for the evening tasting menu with wine pairing. All the courses were excellent, the wine was incredible and the service was friendly yet very knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be back next time I am in Glasgow
**Rating: 5/5 Stars** As a native Scot and a seasoned traveler who has dined in 47 countries, I am always looking for that perfect balance of local flavor and international standards. My lunch at **Glaschu** delivered exactly that. ### Arrival & Ambience Located in the historic Western Club building in Royal Exchange Square, the entrance can be a little tricky—look for the vinyl lettering on the windows, but enter via the main Western Club door and use the buzzer. It’s an ideal spot, just minutes from both Central and Queen Street stations. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and refined, a perfect refuge from a wet Glasgow afternoon. The "Moment of Truth" There was a significant pricing discrepancy upon arrival. The website advertised the Lunch Tasting Menu at £45 (£25 for wine pairing), but the printed cards on our plates showed £65 and £45. As Brits, we can be shy about challenging prices, but I’d advise everyone to take a screenshot of the web price before you enter, just in case signal is poor. I raised this with our waiter, and this is where Glaschu truly earned their 5 stars. He had the immediate authority to apologize and honor the web price without needing to "check with a manager." It was handled with total grace and professionalism—a refreshing change from other establishments I’ve visited. The Culinary Journey The food was exceptional. Salmon: 95% perfect; the caviar was a lovely touch, needing only a tiny hint more acidity(Stronger balsamic or hint of lime to reach 100%.) Rabbit Faggots: A bold but successful lunch choice. Perfectly balanced with a slight, pleasant gamey depth. Sirloin of Borders Beef: 100% perfection. Incredibly tender (be sure to slice across the grain!) and paired beautifully with unexpected, rich beef cheeks on the green beans. The Cheese:We added the George Mewes cheese board (£10 supplement). The variety from cheddar, brie, goats cheese to blue was impressive and very generous. Lovely selection of crackers honey and chutney. Dessert: The Chocolate Pithivier is a "Wow, Wow, Wow" dish. The Bergamot sorbet is punchy on its own but creates a stunning harmony when paired with the rich chocolate. The Wine & Service The *£25 wine pairing was excellent value. A special shout-out to our waitress, whose knowledge of the wine pairings and the nuances of the cheese board was outstanding. I had absolutely no qualms with the optional 12.5% service charge; for service of this calibre, it was well-deserved. Final Verdict: Despite the initial menu confusion, the seamless recovery and world-class food made this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for a high-end Glasgow lunch that doesn't break the bank—just keep your screenshots handy!
