We had a very pleasant stay at the Albion Hotel in Glasgow and were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, but it had everything we needed. Breakfast was very enjoyable and a lovely way to start the day. What we will remember most, though, is the warm welcome, kindness and helpfulness of the two ladies who looked after us during our stay. They were always friendly and available whenever we needed anything. Glasgow was the final stop of our honeymoon in Scotland, and we would like to thank them for helping us end this wonderful trip on such a positive note. We will leave Scotland with beautiful memories, and our stay at the Albion Hotel was definitely part of them. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality! ❤️🏴
We stayed here for two nights in Glasgow. It was nice to have someone at reception to check us in. Diane was very helpful. There isn't a lift in this hotel. There's 2 flights of stairs to the rooms at the top floor. Our room on the top floor had ample space, was comfortable, and had a window on the ceiling that opened for fresh air. Just be careful not to leave it too wide open, if there's a chance of rain while you are out. The Albion is located near the Kelvingate subway station and walking paths along the River Kelvin. It's also close to many restaurants/pubs and a easy 15 minute walk to the Glasgow botanic gardens.
My mom and I had a wonderful stay at this Glaswegian gem and would absolutely come back. The whole place and its hardworking staff recall an era of unique, intimate, independent hotels with a concrete focus on guests, serving important needs and accommodating individual asks as possible without being needlessly elaborate or expensive. Diane did a lovely job of placing me and my mom, whose mobility is slightly compromised, in a ground-floor room with easy access to the entry, the desk, and the dining room. Liz was a wonder in all manner of interactions, from helping me print a conference paper to providing an iron and ironing board on request to updating colleagues at the same hotel on their lost luggage. The location absolutely can't be beat for seeing Glasgow's charming west end, its university campus, excellent restaurants (especially Saffron, just down the street), and several of its premier art galleries (I highly recommend the recreeated Charles Mackintosh house at the Hunterian). Breakfast is great and worth the fee, even if you stick with the continental options and don't order any of the hot food. The setting is quaintly appealing, with direct access to a river walk as well as multiple major walking streets. The bathrooms are tiny, a little noise bleeds in from the hall, and I can imagine some visitors who'd want to see more updates in style or tech. But I was enchanted all around and look forward to a return visit, as do all my friends who stayed here.
It was my first time in Glasgow, and this hotel made me feel completely at ease. The room was well-equipped, spotless, and neat. I would especially like to mention the receptionist, who was thoughtful and kind. She was always willing to help and gave great advice. The location was even better than I had expected. Having a subway line, supermarkets, and pubs nearby made everything very convenient and comfortable. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed. The hotel is affordable and peaceful, allowing for restful nights. I would definitely recommend staying here.
We enjoyed our stay in this small hotel located in the West End of Glasgow. The room was large and comfortable. The shower room was small, as if common for conversions of older buildings, but adequate. The staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was freshly cooked. The quiet location, a few minutes walk from the Kelvinbridge Subway Station and its Park & Ride car park, made it easy to access the city centre.
