Gōst Steak Restaurant & Bar

Food was good and waiters friendly, however the steak was over cooked, not what I would expect from a restaurant specialising in steaks at this price point. Was asked if we wanted water for the table, we said yes please believeing this was tap water, but was then charged £4.50. Photo of the bottle of water in question is attached to this review, which is a refillable glass bottle that tap water is served in. Also, a 12.5% service charge automatically added on to the bill.
The food was outstanding! We had wagyu taster that was delightful! The server brought the cut to show us prior to cooking! For the main probably the best Chateaubriand we have had and we have had alot! Will definitely return here!
Managed to get a booking on the day. Had been wanting to come here for a while. But as I’d already had a huge lunch earlier, I didn’t feel like a steak. So went for the burger. Felt the burger bun was too dry and was falling apart. Lots of meat in the burger tho. Fries were great. Onion rings were too greasy. Will come back next time for a steak. Just wasn’t over impressed with the burger tbh.
Booked for my husband’s birthday and it was such a memorable experience. We had a reservation and the staff genuinely made an effort to celebrate the occasion. They left a birthday wish card at the table and brought a complimentary cake, which was a really thoughtful touch and made the afternoon feel special. Food wise, the highlight was definitely the steak. The steak is halal, which was important for us, and it was honestly one of the best halal steak meals I have had in Glasgow. We ordered both sirloin and ribeye and both were cooked perfectly. The ribeye was incredibly juicy and full of flavour, and the sirloin was tender and so satisfying. The kind of meal you keep thinking about afterwards. Service was warm, attentive, and professional throughout, and everything felt smooth from start to finish. Yes it is a bit of a treat price wise, but the quality and the overall experience make it absolutely worth the money. We will definitely be going back again for another lunch or dinner. Highly recommend.
We hadn't booked, but we're lucky to get a table close the the end of lunchtime. We had the 3-course Xmas lunch and the food was fantastic. The parsnip veloute was so creamy, the beef cheeks were so tender! My partner loved the game pate and his rump steak. Very nice desserts to round off our meal. Good selection of wines by the glass. Really good service. A great experience!
