Margo

Our first trip to Margo, staff were very attentive and make excellent recommendations on the menu and best accompanying dishes. Food was incredible, some very left of centre ideas and all of it came off brilliantly. Highly recommend!
Walked in on the off-chance of getting a seat. I was led to the best seat on the house. Right in front of the chefs at the pass. Ordered the beef tartare followed by the confit lamb shoulder with fries and a parsley aioli. Sublime food. I could eat that lamb all day long. Perfect chunky fries, light and fluffy with massive crunch. The tartare was unlike i have had before but really really tasty. I was planning on having a dessert too but those 3 plates was enough to be honest. Great food and could have watched the chefs all night long working their arts. I will be back. Soon hopefully
Food was exceptional. Amazing flavours. I could not fault it. Service was incredible. Very attentive and quick. The pudding called the chocolate nemesis was the highlight. The texture of a mousse but taste of a brownie. One of the best chocolate puddings I have had in a long time.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing staff. We ordered 2-3 dishes per person to share. While everything was delicious, the bread and the pork belly were delicious! Great mocktail options as well as cocktails. We ordered 2 desserts and agree that the Pavlova was our favorite. Highly recommend reservations.
This huge barn of a restaurant in Glasgow’s bustling Merchant City was heaving on the Saturday night I visited. Despite being packed, service was relaxed, efficient and friendly and every dish was delicious. The dish of the night was easily skate wing in a citrusy cumquat sauce, but everything was well-seasoned, well-sauced and tasty. Servings are surprisingly generous, ideal for sharing. We started with good focaccia, grilled zucchini with edamame and pine nuts, and Shetland mussels in cider on a thick slab of toasted bread with sobrasada and plenty of fresh herbs. Mains were beautifully rare lamb shoulder with salsa verde, peas and beans; half duck, the breast crisp-skinned and medium, the maryland slow-cooked, with excellent jus and a few leaves of bitter radicchio; pork belly with caramelized fennel and preserved cherries; and a perfectly-cooked medium T-bone sirloin with the signature ‘sauce Margo’ (a café de Paris riff), the bone perfect for gnawing on. Sides included great thick chips with green mayo dip and creamed spinach with hazelnuts. Good wine list too! If I lived in Glasgow, I’d be here regularly!
