For the onion ring connoisseurs, you will be dreaming of these salt& vinegar delights for days, these satiated a craving I've had for literal years. Not to diminish the delights from the rest of the menu. The Clarence really does showcase the best of local produce in a way that's sure to please even the pickiest eater. I found the food to be seasoned to perfection, the service top notch and really loved the look and feel of the place. A special shout out to Chris who took great care of us today. I wholeheartedly reccomend the Clarence and look forward to my next visit, I'm eyeing up the Sunday roast.
Our best meal in Scotland! We ordered the lamb shank with bone marrow, linguine, and a side of salt and vinegar onion rings. Everything was delicious and well cooked! We paired with an old fashioned to start and some red wine with the meal. Kyle was excellent and recommended some other stops for us while we are in town. Took one star off atmosphere as they were doing some work to the front of the restaurant and there was intermittent hammering sounds throughout the meal but sure it was a fluke.
For food or for drinks this place is truly tremendous, a gem of the west end. £3 pints from Monday to Thursday. Wow. Monday night pub quiz. Class. Bla the quizmaster is one of the best if not the best in all of Glasgow. The scran was dyno, really well presented and very well flavoured. A fun mix of choices with excellent oysters to boot. Service is always classy, and staff are very friendly. Heavily recommend for a nice meal out or a couple quiet drinks in. Thanks for a bunch of great evenings. Cheers :)
Outstanding lunch in the Clarence with brilliant service. The food a perfectly seasoned and well presented. The bill was £110 and that was 3 x courses for 2 x people with wines and coffee. My only slight criticism is the service charge that’s already added when the bill comes (£13), but to be fair the service was spot on.
Dined here on a Sunday evening in January as a group of 6. The service and ambience were first class, welcoming and attentive. BUT the food! Possible one of the BEST Sunday roast meals I’ve ever eaten. The beef was without doubt the most delicious star of the show, buttery soft and perfectly cooked. Would 100% recommend and I can’t wait to go back.
