Perfect place for a stay in Glasgow (especially on a weekend, where you can avoid the "exuberance" of the city centre) - lovely, modern rooms and facilities. I've seen some reviews mention the noise. When we stayed there was a wedding reception in the hotel and when you were in the lifts, you could certainly hear it - in the room, though, it was silent and we had a great night's sleep.

Stayed for one night. The location of the hotel is very good, but unfortunately that is where the positives end. The price shown on the hotel website was £176.00 for one night, which I thought was reasonable, although breakfast was not included. I felt this was already a little expensive, but decided to book anyway. However, as soon as I clicked to accept the booking, the price increased from £176.00 to £262.25, including a £28.81 tax recovery charge and a £61.44 service fee. I should have cancelled at that point, but as the stay was for my wife’s 60th birthday, and I had already booked a table at a nearby Italian restaurant, I decided to go ahead. On arrival, we were given our room key and I booked two breakfasts for the next morning. This turned out to be a good decision, as the breakfast was of decent quality and the staff were friendly and accommodating. However, for the price paid, I expected a much better standard of room. By this point, the total cost of the stay was around £284.00. Unfortunately, the room was dull and dated. Although it was clean enough, there were lots of bumps, scratches and general signs of wear, which I would not expect from a hotel charging this level of money. The view from our window was also very poor, looking directly onto a ventilation duct and the roof area of an adjacent building. The room itself was cold, and the sprung mattress felt tired and in need of replacement. Overall, while the location and breakfast were good, the room and overall value for money were disappointing. Perhaps some people would find this acceptable given the hotel’s location, but in my opinion, the standard of the room did not justify the price paid.

It’s a bit of a glamorous dame that’s just lost a little of her polish, shine and beauty. It’s a great location for getting into the West End. Parking is on the top floor of the Waitrose next door (found via a lane behind the hotel). Reception is swift and friendly and the staff generally were great. We had a nice room at the front of the hotel. It’s a city centre hotel and the Great Western Road is a main thoroughfare. So be prepared for road/traffic noise. Not bad - but it’s there. Comfy rooms with very firm pillows! Fan provided which was a good touch….and something of a shock for Glasgow!! Excellent breakfast. All in all - it’s good. But not great.
