Description
This private tour uncovers lesser-known sites in the Scottish Highlands, starting in Queensferry with views of the iconic Forth Bridge, a Victorian engineering landmark.
Next, visit Stirling Castle, a key location in Scotland’s Wars of Independence. Walk the Old Stirling Bridge, scene of William Wallace’s victory, and the Church of the Holy Rude, where James VI was crowned.
Lunch is available at Mhor Bread bakery (not included), followed by a trip to the Falls of Dochart and a nearby traditional pub for a break.
The journey continues through the Lawers Range, where you may spot red deer, before reaching Glen Lyon, described by Sir Walter Scott as Scotland’s longest and loneliest glen. Explore Neolithic sites including stone circles and the ancient Fortingall Yew tree. Take a walk through birch woods to panoramic viewpoints and visit a tranquil waterfall.
The tour concludes with a scenic drive back to Edinburgh via the valleys of Sma Glen and Glen Quaich.
