Experience a unique, authentic farm animal safari from a purpose-built 14-seater all-weather trailer. Visit Muirhouse, a family-run 3rd generation working beef and sheep hill farm, and enjoy a family-friendly trailer tour. Situated between Kilmacolm and Greenock within a Special Site of Scientific Interest, enjoy panoramic views up to 40 miles including Ben Lomond, which allows spectacular photo opportunities not least the waterfall within Burnbank Water. The highland cows also love a selfie photo! Be welcomed by James and Wendy to learn directly about sustainable farming practices including their naturally kept Highland cows and North Country Cheviot sheep being reared purely on grass and heather. Meet the working collie dogs, horses, and Splash the farm cat. Historically, the farm was owned by Sir James Lithgow, a shipbuilder, as part of his grouse moor shooting estate. See the remains of the 2-foot-wide grouse railway track which was built in 1922 and remained in use until the 1970s. Immerse yourself in rural Scotland and discover an insight into Scottish Agriculture. Finish off back at the reception centre with a relaxing selection of hot drinks and home baking .
