Description

By using bicycles, both standard and E bike, we can start in the city centre and ride to the farther reaches of Scotlands largest city. Utilising its excellent network of bike lanes and quiet roads we can travel through gorgeous green spaces, stunning vistas, architectural wonders and, indeed, time itself. Starting in the heart of the city at George Square we will travel an 11 mile/18km loop visiting a myriad of interesting locations and finish right back where we started. We will visit well known highlights of the city as well as lesser known points of incredible interest and gain a deeper understanding of what makes Glasgow the wonderful and eclectic place it is today. We will discuss ancient folklore, local heroes, triumphs, tragedies, art, sport, invention and science. Getting to know each other as well as the city and country that surrounds us. Highlights include: Glasgow University, Kelvingrove Museum & Park, The Glen Lee Tall Ship, The Finnieston Crane, Glasgow Green, The Peoples Palace, Glasgow Cathedral, The Necropolis, The River Kelvin, The Firth & Clyde Canal. You will be provided with a well equipped, experienced, qualified guide (myself, Stuart), the bike of your choice, either E Bike or standard and in the size that is most comfortable to you. Helmets will also be provided for your added safety. I will also take photographs, if you wish, which can be shared with you at the end so you will have a souvenir of your wonderful experience. We will have the chance, should you wish, to visit a wonderful local cafe around the half way mark for some coffee, cake and other refreshments.
