Perfect location for Glasgow’s West End & Botanical Gardens. Great transport links to the city & countryside, namely Ballough. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. I had a single room which was perfect for my 4-night stay, however more detail to cleaning, the skirting boards and bin, would have gained 5* from me. Would I stay there again, most definitely.

When we lived in town closeby we went past this hotel pretty much every single day, and as we wanted to go back to Glasgow for a visit we decided to try it out. Neil at the reception was fantastic when we realised our arrival would be delayed and made sure we could get the key after check-in closed. Room is very nice, clean and spacious. The service has been wonderful and with the wonderful glasgow-warmth we adore. If there would be anything we would've liked to add it's a mini-fridge in the room and maybe a larger safe. Otherwise everything has been perfect for our wee trio.

We stayed at the embassy apartments portion of the hotel, and it was such a lovely stay! The room was beautiful with big beautiful windows overlooking the botanical garden across the way. The bathroom was clean and updated, and the kitchen had all the amenities you would need for a short or longer stay. Location was perfect, situated in a quiet, walkable part of Glasgow with the city center only a short car ride away. The front office staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the morning breakfast had a great selection. Would highly recommend!

Great hotel - clean, tidy rooms, friendly and helpful staff all makes for a lovely calm vibe. Great, quiet location, close to local amenities and doorstep access to beautiful path that runs alongside the River Kelvin further into the city. Can't fault it, will definietly be back :)

Visited the Ambassador for 2 nights in May 2026 after staying here once for a short visit in Sept 2019. The access to the river walk and botanical gardens is ideal. The car park is, as mentioned in other reviews, quite small and first-come, first-served, but we got a spot and were appreciative of free parking in Glasgow. Neil and the other staff members were helpful, and the price is very reasonable for what you're getting. We did not eat breakfast here, so I cannot speak to that. The double room we were in (#13) was small, quiet, and clean enough on the surface; not to my preference, but tolerable for a short stay. The space was showing obvious signs of aging/wear; the carpet seemed grungy and needs replacing, the bathroom hand soap dispenser was broken, the walls were scuffed, window sill was dirty (it was warmer during our stay, so windows were open due to no A/C), and the curtains had some dirt/moldy spots on them, particularly near the bottom along the window sill where dampness may leak in. There is free Wi-Fi that can be used to find restaurants or get directions, but it is very slow/not strong enough for streaming or loading anything on social media. Our stay was short, so I didn't worry about communicating any concerns to management. Overall, for a quick stay in the West End near public transport and with free parking, this is a perfectly adequate and affordable option.
