Dropped into The Ivy Buchanan Street for a late-night dinner around 9 PM, and it delivered on every front. The interior is stunning—lush decor, warm lighting, and a lively, buzzing atmosphere. It strikes the perfect balance for dress code; whether you’re suited up or in smart-casual jeans, you feel right at home. I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie with a side of green peas. It’s an absolute classic for a reason—rich, deeply flavorful slow-braised meat topped with perfectly golden, crisped cheddar mash. Exactly the kind of high-quality comfort food needed after a long day of travel. Service was sharp, welcoming, and fast, making it completely effortless for a solo diner dropping in late. A reliable, elevated spot in the heart of Glasgow when you want great food, polished service, and zero hassle late in the evening. Highly recommended!
After a long day trip on our way back from Aberdeen, we stopped at The Ivy for lunch. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and highly efficient throughout. The setting is beautiful, with an elegant interior featuring rich colours, striking lighting, and lush greenery, creating the perfect atmosphere for either a relaxed meal or a special occasion. The food was scrumptious, as the photos show, with each dish well presented and full of flavour.
After being previously unimpressed with The Ivy, this visit was a very pleasant surprise. The shedded duck, then the Korean chicken, from the 1998 menu, were excellent. The chocolate bomb was phenomenal. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty of time to chat. (The toilets are unique and smell delightful).
After a long day trip on our way back to the hotel we stopped by The Ivy to have dinner. When we went in we got a bit surprised. Wowsa, this place is fancy! And we weren't really dressed accordingly, coming straight from a trip in the highlands. But we got a table anyway. The service was top notch. Very friendly and efficient. The place itself is very bizarre - in a positive way. You don't have these classy "upmarket" places anymore. Have a look at the restrooms (even if you don't have to go), how beautiful the decorations and the bathroom in marble is. The food itself was good. Nothing too fancy but good. The prices for drinks and food were absolutely OK and fair, especially considering the excellent service and the atmosphere.
Another brilliant Ivy experience, this time in Glasgow. I've been to a few over the years and this one did not disappoint. The waitress who served was absolutely fab - professional, convivial and added much humour to our evening. I took some friends new to the Ivy experience and they were initially nervous and thought it would be pretentious. They were blown away by the laid back yet very efficient and attentive service. Not to mention the food which is consistently on point. All the dishes ordered were excellent and well received. Standout were the cod goujons, salmon linguine, Keralan sweet potato curry and creme brulee.
