We came from the airport, spending some time in the city center during a layover. Janette took amazing care of us. We had an incredible lunch special and some top-notch pints. Perfect start to a week in Scotland! Loved the local flavor, too. Folks coming in and out for a break or a meal. Perfect.
10Jun2026, Came back again today and Janet our friendly server has been a great host as usual, even though it was busy she handled every table well and checked on everyone promptly. Our food was tasty and well presented as usual. Just love this place. 👍🏼 Previously, A little hidden gem for a pint and some decent pub grubs. Staff are friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Authentic and unpretentious. Our regular go to place while in town. 🍻🍔🌭🥘 Check out their new food menu upstairs ;)
I come to this venue pretty regularly to meet up with an old colleague for lunch and would normally be served by Jeanette or Sandra. We are always provided with a warm welcome and great service. Even when it has been really busy we never have to ask twice for anything.
The Horseshoe Bar in Glasgow is a famous pub. This grade ll listed pubs claim to fame is that it has the longest bar in the UK. It is listed by CAMRA as a pub of historic importance. It is a great traditional pub with a good selection of draught drinks, including hand pulled cask conditioned real ale's which were in excellent condition on our visit. There is a restaurant upstairs but I haven't tried the food so I can't comment. The staff are very friendly and welcoming the Horseshoe is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
A great proper boozer in the heart of Glasgow. Was told about the excellent karaoke upstairs but we didn't partake (it was a Monday night on our visit). Nor did we eat. Plenty of beers available, however, of which we did partake quite a bit. Staff are good, though quick with the lights on at 11pm. The toilets are decent, and plentiful urinals so you won't be caught short. We'll be back to this Glasgow staple next time we're in town!
