After a wee wander around the famous Forge Market, we decided to stop in here and give it a try. Got seated fairly quickly, but within about two minutes we were being asked if we were ready to order. Emm… no we weren’t. We’d barely had time to open the menus. For starters, I went for the chicken satay skewers. They were alright, nothing special, but what confused me was why they arrived absolutely covered in curry sauce, onions and peppers. I’m talking piled on top of the skewers rather than served on the side. Just seemed a bit odd. The mains arrived not long after and I opted for the honey chilli chicken with rice and chips. Unfortunately, the rice and chips were poor. No flavour, no seasoning, just very bland. The chicken itself was decent enough, but the sauce was bizarre. It wasn’t spicy hot, it was physically hot. Like it’d just done a tour of duty in the microwave before arriving at the table. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be rushing back. The service felt rushed, the food was average at best and for one of the first sit-down Chinese restaurants I’ve tried, it was pretty disappointing. Would I come back? Probably not. There are plenty of better Chinese spots across Glasgow that I’d choose before returning here.
Absolutely brilliant, food is lovely, staff are very friendly I pop in for my lunch everytime I'm at the forge 👍😊
