Thoroughly helpful staff who helped us work out which foods would be safe for our food allergies by marking on a menu for us. We really appreciate it! The food itself was very unique and everything was delicious. A great place to try something different, you won't be disappointed.
The waitstaff was patient and knowledgeable about our party's food allergies, and marked up a menu just for us to know what could be done to accommodate and what to avoid. Everything we tried was absolutely brilliant, and I need to particularly call out the mango and passionfruit tart - it is elegant and delicious and jiggly. I'll be thinking about it for weeks
We went here after seeing that this restaurant was Michelin recognised and we were not disappointed. The menu is creative and innovative. We went as a family of four and we each ordered different starters and mains, so we tasted 11 dishes including a couple of desserts. The whipped code roe was our favourite dish, followed closely by the haddock, burrata and salmon. The beef tartare was another standout. The least favourite was the lamb and orzo, a bit too much going on with the spices in the dish. Service was adequate, it was a busy Saturday evening and our server seemed to have tables inside and on the sidewalk. Our server was from Newcastle so a bit difficult to understand. We had a misunderstanding on the wine that I unfortunately identified on the bill. She was annoyed when we asked for wine glasses without lipstick marks from the prior patrons. We would return to Ox and Finch in a heartbeat. It is a selection we would be hard-pressed to find at home in Porto Portugal.
Jim was our server and had excellent suggestions. Started with nice well made drinks. Roe and enliven great combination of flavors. Fresh mozzarella bruschetta was well balanced and tasty. Monk fish was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend a visit to ox and finch.
Ox and Finch is where modern elegance meets a warm, convivial spirit. Beneath its softly lit, intimate setting, a menu of contemporary small plates unfolds like a quiet celebration of flavour and craft. A Michelin-starred gem since 2014, it continues to shine with understated confidence. Dining here has become a cherished ritual for our family—each visit to Glasgow feels incomplete without an evening at Ox and Finch. Reservations are essential, and always worth planning ahead. There is a quiet joy in sharing: plate after plate arriving, each one a small discovery. Vibrant vegetable dishes, fresh and delicately composed; meats, tender and deeply satisfying. From the richness of duck liver parfait and the refined depth of beef tartare, to the comforting indulgence of ox tongue and slow-cooked beef, each dish tells its own story. Desserts linger sweetly in memory—the rhubarb and gingerbread trifle, the bright lift of lemon meringue tart, and the gentle warmth of panettone. Not every note is perfect—the lamb shoulder, on this occasion, did not quite resonate—but the overall harmony remains beautifully intact. Thoughtful touches, such as clearly marked allergen guides and inclusive menu options, reflect a kitchen that truly cares. The space is intimate, perhaps a touch dim, with tables set close together—yet this adds to the lively, shared energy of the room. An evening at Ox and Finch is more than a meal; it is a collection of flavours, moments, and memories—one we return to, time and again.
